LSQ QIMR Berghofer Woman Of Influence Award – developed by Life Sciences Queensland (LSQ) together with QIMR Berghofer, recognises an individual woman for her endeavours, passion and dedication to the life sciences industry over her career.

Presented to an individual that has made a significant impact to the success of the Queensland life sciences industry.

With the continued advancement of Queensland’s life sciences industry, Life Sciences Queensland (LSQ), continues to recognise, celebrate and reward stakeholders for their outstanding contributions to the future economic development and success of the life sciences sector in Queensland.

Now in its 13th year, the 2021 award will be presented at the Globally Engaging Networking Event (GENE) Awards on 19 November 2021.

The award recipient will receive a commemorative statuette and the provision of 2000 AUD to be put towards attendance at life sciences events, or training and education courses. This cash bursary will enable the recipient to enhance their objectives and opportunities, and as a result their work and the industry as a whole.

The life sciences sector is broadly defined and includes biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, nutraceuticals, environmental science, agricultural science, marine biotechnology as well as venture capital and business consultants focusing on the life sciences.

This award is open to all LSQ Members who are involved in the Queensland life sciences community, both scientists and non-scientists, including management and academia, who are currently in the mid to late stages of their career.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIAAward nominees must:• Work for an LSQ Member organisation in any area of the life sciences sector.• Be in the mid to late stages of their career.• Not have won the same award in the past five years.• Not have served on the LSQ Board of Directors for the past three years.• Applicants can be nominated by a peer or nominate themselves for this award.• Award nominees must accept their nomination.• Nominees must provide no more than 300 words addressing the Award Judgement Criteria (listed below).• Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of industry experts including a sponsor representative and a representative from the LSQ Board of Directors, who will decide the recipient based on the Award Judgement Criteria.• A headshot photo of the nominee is required.• Nominations must be received by COB 21 October 2021.

AWARD JUDGEMENT CRITERIA• Demonstrated contributions beyond their job scope to further the Queensland life sciences industry and broader community.• Demonstrated innovation and creativity.• Contributed to raising Queensland’s profile and capabilities.• Demonstrated a wealth of impact across the life sciences industry.• How the cash bursary will assist.
