Do you know a brilliant health-focused researcher who is working in Queensland to improve the lives of others?

We would like to highlight a fantastic opportunity to participate in an upcoming research showcase celebrating the partnerships, translation, and commercialisation of research affiliated with Queensland Health. Organised by Life Sciences Queensland (LSQ) and the Office of Research and Innovation (ORI), the event comprises two sessions in which applicants can present a poster and/or pitch their research to a wider health-sector audience.

These sessions are an excellent platform to showcase the remarkable research happening across our state to improve the lives of Queenslanders. Applicants will have the opportunity to promote their research, increase their collaboration links across the wider health sector, and win prize money to further their research.

Importantly, to participate in either session the applicant must hold a salaried appointment or other contract requiring not less than 20% FTE hours of work for Queensland Health or other publicly funded healthcare facility (Research Entity).

An award of $3,500 is being offered for each of the six winners (three from each session), with the funds intended to extend the translation of their research.

Applications are especially encouraged from regional, rural and remote locations in Queensland, as well as First Nations people and women.

Support for applicants wishing to pitch their research will be provided by means of an exclusive coaching session, hosted by LSQ, to hone their pitching skills.

Following the event, award winners will have the opportunity to participate in a feedback session to provide updates on how they have used the award funds to maximise the translation of their research.

We look forward to celebrating the talented researchers advancing healthcare in Queensland.
