The Showcase is a statewide event recognising research achievements across Queensland Health. Its theme, Partnership and Translation, focuses on celebrating and highlighting the pivotal role that partnerships, research translation and commercialisation play in advancing medical research, workforce development and healthcare.

The Showcase will include a Poster session and a Pitching session. These are an opportunity to promote your research that is underway or translation ready. We especially encourage applications from regional, rural and remote locations and from First Nations peoples and women.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

I work full time as a university researcher, can I still apply?

Unfortunately, only those who hold a position working a minimum 20% FTE salaried appointment/contract at Queensland Health or an affiliated publicly funded health care facility (such as Mater Health, public) can apply to present a poster or pitch their research.

I am unsure if I qualify, who can I ask?

If you want to confirm your eligibility, please email info@lsq.com.au, providing as much information as possible regarding your position and research affiliations. We will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible.

I have signed up for the poster session, where do I send it?

When you have finished creating your research poster, please send a PDF copy to info@lsq.com.au. Posters will be printed and organised prior to the event by LSQ, please do not bring your own printed copy. The deadline to send the poster is 11.59pm 21 April. No late entries will be accepted.

Does the poster have any specific requirements?

Please ensure your name, the research title and all formatting is suitable to be printed A1. The design must be in portrait orientation.

Prior to creating your poster, document sizes can be adjusted in the settings of your desired platform to suit A1 (594 x 841 mm). It is also advised that you print the final poster prior to submitting to ensure you are happy with formatting and colour settings.  A handy guide for tips to design a standout poster is included here. Images should be the highest quality available, or vector format to prevent pixelation when printed in A1.

If I can't attend in person, can I still apply?

Unfortunately, only those who can attend in person are eligible to apply. If you have submitted an EOI and thereafter been chosen to attend, but are no longer able, please contact info@lsq.com.au as soon as possible. A representative may be sent in your place, but must be confirmed prior to the event.
