2020 continues to be a year of extraordinary change beset by significant uncertainty. While COVID-19 has created enormous challenges, it has inspired extraordinary responses, with Life Sciences Queensland and its members at the vanguard. The collaborative and collegial approach to the health response from so many industries and sectors has been, frankly, remarkable. It is collaboration that sparks ideas, accelerates innovation and provides new direction.Life Sciences Queensland is to be congratulated for its role in providing the platform for life sciences industry organisations and key stakeholders to connect and help solve some of the current problems facing the world. Its response initiatives reflect a well-administered organisation, with an abiding commitment to the health and prosperity of our communities.I further thank those members organisations working with energy and pace to overcome the effects of coronavirus. Some are searching for vaccines and treatment, while others are developing new tests and equipment to keep frontline workers and the community safe. My admiration for your work is immense. Your skills and expertise bring great credit to our State and will be vital to our economic recovery.I have never been prouder than now to be Patron of Life Sciences Queensland. On behalf of all Queenslanders, I thank the organisation and its members and sector supporters for their potentially lifesaving work, and for their ongoing contributions to our State and to humanity. His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey ACGovernor of Queensland
