Logan-Beaudesert's health facilities are situated midway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast and includes some southern Brisbane
suburbs, Logan City Council, Gold Coast hinterland and the Scenic Rim Shire to the border with New South Wales.
The Logan-Beaudesert region contains approximately 300,000 residents and makes up 31 per cent of the population of the Metro
South Health Service District.
The population of Logan-Beaudesert is varied, with the largest proportion of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population in
southern Queensland living in this area and a significant number of people from culturally or linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Logan Hospital is a 367-bed, Level 2 teaching hospital situated in a demographically rich community offering a unique opportunity for
research and clinical trials. An active Research Governance Committee facilitates the research process.
Beaudesert Hospital celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2000 by opening the new 40-bed capacity facility and is a primary site Metro
South’s telemedicine service.
Both hospitals manage an electronic medical records system providing fast and efficient access to patient information.
