HIRF is an alliance between four of Queensland’s most influential research
and clinical institutions: The University of Queensland, QIMR Berghofer
Medical Research Institute, Queensland University of Technology and the
Metro North Hospital and Health Service through the Royal Brisbane and
Women’s Hospital (RBWH).
HIRF is a dedicated facility for performing human imaging research for
both investigator initiated and commercially sponsored studies in the
modalities of MR (3T Prisma), PET/MR, PET/CT and diagnostic CT.
Imaging at HIRF uses a fleet of state of the art Siemens equipment. On
site scientists and our collaborative agreements provide access to the
latest advances in imaging technology and MR sequences.
Being located in a leading academic health precinct, adjacent to one
of Australia’s largest academic teaching hospitals, HIRF has access to
tertiary and quaternary medical services and expertise which provides a
large recruitment base and specialist expertise for protocol development
and image interpretation.
HIRF has access to a range of conventional and novel PET tracers
produced on site by Q-TRaCE and, in collaboration with CSIRO, on site
can provide high level image analytical services.
